The purpose of this Corporation shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational.
Since our founding, the Veterans of Foreign Wars has stood on five pillars — five commitments passed down from generation to generation of American veterans.
To preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members.
No veteran should ever stand alone. The bond forged in service continues here.
To assist worthy comrades.
When a fellow veteran needs a hand — with a VA claim, a hard month, a health crisis, or just a listening ear — we show up.
To perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, and to assist their widows and orphans.
We remember the names. We stand with the families they left behind.
To maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism.
We took an oath once. We keep it every day.
To maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies.
The mission that started in uniform continues in the community, the classroom, and the ballot box.
At Eric G. Sandstrom Post 969, we bring this mission to life every day through VA claims assistance, memorial ceremonies, youth scholarships, community events, and family support. Our commitment is not just to the words of our charter — but to the veterans who count on us to live them out.
